About Me

I grew up roller skating and watching 'The Derby' on TV.  What a fast paced and exciting sport! It was the first time I seen women being aggressive in a sport or otherwise. I was mesmerized! I never even dreamed I could one day play!

I got into this sport when my SA asked me to take him to Roller Derby for his birthday! I had no idea there was any local derby! We looked it up on the interwebs and there was a bootcamp THAT DAY! I showed up and skated my heart out, and got a call back and it all began there for me.

I've skated all over and landed here beginning of the season, 2016 to find my spot with The Outlaws. Roller Derby was at first a hobbie, then an addiction and is now an obession. I can't get enough! I live, breath, and dream derby!

I have a small graphic design business centered around, you guessed it- Roller Derby! I work derby, I skate derby, I write about derby, I NSO, design logos, make shirts, and design helmet decals.  This sport has made my life richer, happier, healthier and has given me friends for life. I can't recommend it enough to anybody who has the gumption to try.

And remember,  even if you can't skate, we can teach you! And if you don't want to skate, we are always looking for Non-Skating Officials, Refs, Volunteers, Fans and Superfans!

Don't be afraid to step up into the inner circle of the greatest sport in the world! The Outlaws are a fantastic place to do just that! A talented bunch of ladies who are dedicated to the sport! Come see for yourself!

Derby has brought more to my life than I could have ever imagined! I Love Roller Derby!

About Me

I was voted in as the team co-captain for the 2015 season. I am a blocker for AORD, but when the coaches allow it I like to dabble as a jammer. I started playing derby in March of 2013. I instantly fell in love with the sport and of course my derby family! I am the fundraising and community service coordinator for the Auburn Outlaws and am looking forward to watching us continue to grow and concour.

About Me

My derby name is Calamity Pain...but since that was a mouthful to yell from the bench, one of my first coaches Cash Money started calling me C.Pain and it stuck!

I have a dance and figure skating background from growing up in the Bay Area.  And after I meet an amazing skater name The 4Closer, I tried out for the Sacred City Derby Girls in May 2011.

I went through their fast track program, was drafted to the Roseville Trainwreckers home team.  In January 2012 made the B team the Disciples roster. In 2015 made the A travel team the Sacrificers. As rostered on their WFTDA Charter 20 I've played in D1 Playoffs - Portland OR, Played in D2 Playoffs - Detroit MI and the 2015 D2 Championships in Minneapolis MN.

During my time with Sacred I was also one of the Fresh Meat/Fast Track Trainers, and retired from skating in January 2016.

About Me

Derby rolled into my life almost twelve years ago. I attended my first practice (and took my first calamitous fall) right after my 30th birthday! From the moment I put on skates, I was convinced that this was something that would never leave my life. It was the earliest days of roller derby in the Greater Sacramento Area. I was at the first public scrimmage and the first derby bout held by the first league to make it that far in Sacramento. Have a question about the local history of the sport? I probably know the answer! I have coached junior roller derby and tried very hard to skate myself, but I still look like an elephant on wheels. That's okay. I take immense joy in supporting our league by being a PInkerton (a non-skating official) for the Outlaws, an NSO-on-th-Go repping our league all over Northern California and announcing at our home bouts! I look forward to many seasons of fun and sisterhood as an Outlaw!

About Me

SKATE IT OUT!

I fell in love with derby the first day I laced up my skates back in November 2012!  I love every hard hitting, exhausting minute of it.  Derby has given me so much happiness from the awesome people that I have met to the many amazing experiences it has allowed me.  Over the years I have transitioned from blocker to a jammer for the Outlaws.  I look forward to another great season of skating with my derby sisters!

HIT HARD, SKATE FAST, HAVE FUN!

About Me

Ever met a parapsychologist who moonlights as a tarot reader with a fondness of the sea? You have now. I’m GypSea, and I might be a derby newby, but I have the drive, ambition, and magic to rock this! While it’s true I haven’t put on a pair of skates since I was 10 years old,  I’ve been active and adventurous for the past 30 years with surfing, bellydancing and ballet. If you think that combo seems a little strange, I’m okay with that. Normal is not my style. So why am I strapping myself into skates now? I needed a new adventure, and I believe I can do this! When I’m not learning how to be a derby girl, you can find me dishing out readings in my custom mobile Wisdom Wagon, watching my boys from the football sideline, or reading a book seaside.

About Me

I recently transitioned to jammer position for the Outlaws. #Blocker4life! I love my team and love this sport! I never knew what roller derby was when I showed up for my first practice in February 2013...once I knew what I was in for...I was hooked! And admittedly a little freaked out  ;) Derby has given me endurance to keep up with my busy life, great exercise, a good outlet for frustrations, and an amazing new group of friends. <3
